Closing the gap
FinTrust Partners was founded by Milija Zuvic and Dalibor Stankovic. The two partners are on a mission to become a one-stop-shop for accounting and financial services in Switzerland. In a very traditional market, they are standing out by increasing efficiency and focusing on higher-level financial consulting services. With their digital accounting firm, they not only allow clients to easily outsource bookkeeping and accounting activities, but they even provide CFO-as-a-service. When we met them for the first time last summer, Dalibor and Milija enthusiastically explained why and how they strive to deliver greater value for less buck.
Power BI is a great tool, it closes the last gap between the accountant/consultant and the entrepreneur. It brings the dry numbers to life.

A better way
For some time, the alumni of HSG (the most prestigious business school in Switzerland) were looking for a way to make financial results more interesting, simpler, and more experienceable.
"Excel spreadsheets, printed pdf files with tables? Come on, there MUST be a better way!"
Combining their experience as accountants with our financial data-skills, we mapped out the most important financial aspects of an entrepreneurial company. The ambition was to have a simple, clean, and very tangible dashboard that allows spotting problems quickly and early.
Initially, we opted for a one fits all solution. However, we quickly realized how this would be a guarantee for failure - too complex for us, too complex for the client. We then reduced to the max. But still: if a client wants more, thanks to Power BI, it is rather easy to make specific changes or to build an extra dashboard on top.

While the dashboard will not replace the core activity of an accountant, it has proven to be a great conversation starter with our clients. We can send them a safe link, or we discuss it with them on a tablet when we meet in person.

The dashboard has been built to connect with Abacus – a leading ERP system in Switzerland – and automatically import the data in the back ground. Power BI is non-invasive and simply adds a layer on top. However, it's flexible enough to configure it to different data sources (e.g. Odoo, SAP, Dynamics...) within a matter of days.
